Gazprom Neft’s Chonskaya oil basin reserves estimate rises 35%

MOSCOW, Dec 16 (PRIME) -- The estimated reserves of Russian oil company Gazprom Neft’s Chonskaya oil basin in Eastern Siberia have increased by 35% to 290 million tonnes of crude oil after prospecting, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

“The State Reserves Commission has confirmed a twofold increase in the resources of the Ignyalinsky oil field, part of the Chonskaya group. The total recoverable reserves of the basin increased by 35%, reaching nearly 290 million tonnes of oil,” the company said.

The total reserves of the Chona River’s basin, which includes the Ignyalinskoye, Tympuchikanskoye and Vakunaiskoye fields are estimated at 500 million tonnes of oil equivalent.
